Description: Detective McCrea was shot at the railyard in Buffalo, New York, by several vagrants who had hitched a ride on the train. Detective McCrea was shot in the head as he climbed the ladder to reach the top of the railcar. Detective McCrea died of his injuries four days later. His assailant escaped.
