Description: On November 15, 1936, Police Officer McDonald and a second officer were shot when they responded to a disturbance call concerning an impaired driver. As Officer McDonald ordered the driver to stop, the passenger pulled a shotgun and shot the officers. Both officers were transported to the hospital. Officer McDonald died of his injuries six days later. The second officer recovered. The two suspects were convicted of second degree murder and sentenced to 20 and 25 years in prison respectively.
