Description: On February 17, 1929, Patrolman McVerry and five other officers were injured in a vehicle crash when their patrol wagon was struck by a truck while en route to a fire. Patrolman McVerry suffered a scalp injury and became ill shortly after the accident. Patrolman McVerry died of chronic nephritis a month later on March 15th.
