Description: Police Officer Moats was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call. Officer Moats and his partner responded to the second domestic violence call to the address that day. The officers removed the suspect's father from the home and took cover behind their vehicle. The suspect exited the home and fired on the officers, striking Officer Moats in his neck, above his ballistic vest. Responding officers returned fire and the suspect surrendered. Officer Moats was transported to the hospital where he died.
