Description: Police Officer Moreno was inadvertently struck and killed while deploying spike strips during a vehicle pursuit. The vehicle pursuit started after officers began investigating a shots fired call outside of a local bar and restaurant. Officers attempted to stop an impaired suspect who was traveling at a speed of 95 miles per hour. Officer Moreno was struck by one of the patrol cars involved in the pursuit. Another officer was seriously injured in the incident. The suspect was charged with second-degree felony murder.
