Description: On May 1, 1908, Police Officer Myers was attacked and struck over the head with a fire poker by the mother of a suspect that he was attempting to take into custody on a disturbance charge. Officer Myers suffered from partial paralysis and became very ill. Following an illness of several weeks, Officer Myers was hospitalized in August 1909 and underwent an operation to relieve pressure on the brain. Officer Myers died a few days later on August 29, 1909.
