Description: Chief Deputy Murphy's patrol vehicle was struck head-on by a man being pursued in a high-speed chase by the Missouri Highway Patrol. The suspect was being pursued for a traffic violation on U.S. 60 near Birch Tree, Missouri. Chief Deputy Murphy was airlifted to the Ozarks Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
