Description: Officer Metzler was killed while providing traffic control at a construction site at North Central Expressway and the LBJ Freeway in Dallas, Texas. The driver of the SUV was speeding and intoxicated when he struck Officer Metzler's patrol car from behind. The patrol car immediately burst into flames trapping Officer Metzler inside.
