Description: Captain McCurley and other drug task force members were preparing to search a house for drugs. Captain McCurley was the first through the door and was shot 14 times. The suspect shot over 100 rounds from an AK-47 rifle at officers and killed Captain McCurley. Officers Gary Entrekin, Rick Correll and Kris Yancy were wounded in the attack but survived. The suspect was found guilty in a court of law and sentenced to death in the electric chair.
