Description: Officer Metz was fatally shot in the head while searching a store for a burglary suspect. Officer Metz reported early that day of his death and took on the assignment which had been given to another officer who was close to the end of his tour of duty. Officer Metz took on the assignment of his fellow officer so that the officer could get home to his family. After Officer MetzŸ??s death, a total of seven people were arrested, tried and convicted.
