Description: Detective Marmolejo was shot and killed while pursuing two burglary suspects. The suspects had broken into a railroad boxcar and fled the scene when Detective Marmolejo and his partner arrived to investigate the burglary. Detective Marmolejo shot one of the fleeing suspects, before being fatally shot himself.
