Description: Deputy Johnson was fatally wounded when fellow officer Deputy Carlisle Slater accidentally shot him with his .38 caliber revolver. Both men were in the Constable's Office. Deputy Slater was removing his weapon from its holster to clean it when the gun accidentally discharged, striking Deputy Johnson. Two deputies who were also in the room testified there was no malice or horseplay involved. Friendly Fire.
