Description: Lighthorseman Marshal attempted to arrest a suspect wanted for murder and horse theft in Muskogee, Oklahoma. The suspect drew his weapon and shot and killed Lighthorseman Marshal. The suspect was arrested, convicted of murder and sentenced to death. However, his verdict was reversed and he was given a new trial. The new trial found the suspect guilty of manslaughter and he was sentenced to ten years in prison.
