Description: Police Officers McCandless and Nicholas Armstrong were shot while questioning four suspicious suspects. One of the suspects pulled out a concealed gun and fired at the officers. The responding officers returned fire, killing the suspect. Officers Armstrong and McCandless were transported to a nearby hospital where Officer McCandless was pronounced dead. Officer Armstrong died five days later. Officer Timothy Doyle was also wounded in the incident but survived.
