Description: Sergeant May succumbed to injuries sustained in an automobile accident while in pursuit of a suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon. Sergeant May's police cruiser was struck by the suspect's SUV and slammed against a tree, pinning him inside the vehicle. The suspect, who was high on methamphetamine at the time, was ejected from his vehicle and died instantly. Sergeant May was taken to the hospital where he remained in a coma until his death seven years later.
