Description: Chief of Police Martin and Sheriff James Woods were shot as they attempted to serve a warrant for theft. The suspect pulled a gun and shot both lawmen. Chief Martin returned fire and killed the suspect. Chief Martin was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and died the next day. Sheriff Woods survived his injuries.
