Description: Chief Deputy Martin died from injuries sustained approximately one month prior to his death while investigating a home invasion. Deputy Martin spotted a vehicle matching the description of a car involved in the home invasion. But before he could exit his patrol car, one of the men approached him and opened fire. Deputy Martin was shot in the face and chest. The suspect was under the influence of PCP and ecstasy. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries one month later.
