Description: Patrolman Manfra was accidentally shot and killed by the base armorer, Ed Crowley. Mr. Crowley was inspecting a firearm that had been turned in at the end of another officer's shift. The hammer of the .45 pistol was cocked and the magazine in place. Without checking to see if the weapon was loaded, Mr. Crowley fired the weapon. The round went through the door and struck Patrolman Manfra in the chest. (friendly fire)
