Description: Handling mentally deranged persons. Sheriff W. Mckenzie and Deputy Shuping responded to a disturbance call where a woman's husband had threatened to shoot her. The suspect had been committed to the state insane asylum several times. Sheriff Mckenzie was shot in the side with a 12- gauge shotgun. He died upon arrival at the local hospital.
