Description: Attempting other arrest (excludes burglary, robbery and drug-related arrests). Officer Metts and two other officers attempted to arrest a suspect for shooting inside the city limits. The suspect fled from his residence when he saw the officers. While in pursuit, the suspect and Officer Metts fell off of a forty foot precipice. The suspect was able to limp away, but Officer Metts was unconscious when the other officers found him. Officer Metts died two days later from injuries sustained in the fall.
