Description: Marshal Miller went to the jail to check on a man he had arrested earlier that day for public drunkenness. The man pulled out a shoe knife and stabbed Marshall Miller in the stomach and attempted to escape. Although badly wounded, Marshall Miller gave chase and captured his assailant. Marshal Miller died nine days later. The suspect was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment.
