Description: Sergeant McEntee responded to a citizen's call about fireworks being set off inside an apartment complex. Sergeant McEntee was talking to three juveniles when the suspect approached the police car and fired, striking Sergeant McEntee in the head and chest. Sergeant McEntee drove about 200 feet before he crashed. When Sergeant McEntee got out of the car with help from neighbors, the suspect walked up to the officer, fired three more shots and killed him. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to death by lethal injection.
