Description: Police Officer Newton was killed in an automobile accident while on routine patrol with his partner. Officers Jeffers was driving the patrol vehicle and Officer Newton was in the passenger seat when an intoxicated driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed head-on into the police cruiser. Officer Newton was killed instantly. Officer Jeffers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
