Description: Night Watchman Nowka was shot as he and City Marshal L. Force searched three robbery suspects. One of the suspects drew his weapon and shot Officer Nowka three times. Marshal Force was shot in the leg but survived. Officer Nowka died at the scene. Three suspects were arrested. Officer Nowka's assailant was convicted of murder and received a life sentence.
