Description: Superintendent North, of the Dannemora State Prison Hospital for the Criminally Insane, was fatally stabbed in the back with a chisel. Superintendent North had been talking to an inmate in the hospital's carpenter shop about toys and as he turned to leave, the inmate stabbed him.
