Description: City Marshal Nowlin was shot when he responded to a disturbance call which was revealed to be false. When Marshal Nowlin confronted the constable regarding the call, he was fatally shot. The constable was arrested and released on $5,000 bail. The city council met and declared that Marshal Nowlin was killed in the discharge of his duty.
