Description: Police Officer Newman was killed in a single-vehicle crash while responding to a collision that involved multiple injuries during a heavy rainstorm. While en route to the scene, Officer Newman drove through an area of standing water on US Highway 31 which caused his patrol vehicle to spin out of control and hit a utility pole. Officer Newman was pronounced dead at the scene.
