Description: Sergeant Nadler was killed in an explosion when the emergency squad responded to call regarding a gas main leak in a 10-story building. The officers searched the building and removed a deceased guard and an unconscious fireman. Sergeant Nadler was attempting to revive the fireman when an explosion occurred. The marquee from the building collapsed and fell on Sergeant Nadler. Three other officers and eight civilians were also wounded in the blast.
