Description: Attempting other arrest (excludes burglary, robbery and drug-related arrests). Marshal Newsome responded to a call in Floral City (known for its illegal liquor sales), to make an arrest. When confronted, the suspect reached for a firearm. Marshal Newsome reached for his gun and the two men fired at one another. Marshal Newsome was struck and died immediately.
