Description: Officer Wilson responded to a disturbance call on Jarvis Street in Hazel Park, Michigan. As she exited her patrol car a man standing on the porch suddenly opened fire with a shotgun. Officer Wilson was shot in the face, neck, and stomach. Although she was wearing her vest one round penetrated her vest causing abdominal injuries. Officer Wilson died shortly after arrival at a local hospital. The suspect was found guilty of first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
