Description: Lieutenant Nennig was off-duty and riding on his personal motorcycle when he observed a vehicle fire positioned on the right shoulder of the westbound roadway. Lieutenant Nennig reduced his speed and remained in the left hand lane. The driver of the vehicle directly behind Lieutenant Nennig did not immediately reduce her speed and closed in on the cycle. The right front end of the suspect vehicle struck the cycle from behind thrusting the bike and Lieutenant Nennig forward. Lieutenant Nennig suffered severe head, chest, and neck injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
