Description: Deputy North was shot when he arrested a suspect who rode the train without paying the fare. Deputy North was accosted by relatives of the suspect and a shoot-out ensued. Deputy North was shot in the abdomen and died seven days later of internal hemorrhaging. The suspect was convicted of murder and died in prison.
