Description: Trooper Newton was killed when his 2003 Ford Crown Victoria patrol car, was struck from behind. Trooper Newton was seated inside his patrol unit writing a traffic citation for a motorist on the shoulder of I -70 when a truck slammed into the back of the patrol car which burst into flames upon impact, trapping Trooper Newton inside. Trooper Newton was pronounced dead at the scene.
