Description: Deputy Sheriff Norris succumbed to a gunshot wound he suffered the previous day when he and another deputy responded to a call of an armed, suicidal man at a residence. As the deputies approached the front door, the suspect opened fire and wounded both deputies. Deputy Norris was transported to a local hospital where he died the next day. The second deputy recovered from his injuries.
