Description: Patrolman Notaro drowned while off-duty when his canoe overturned in Laurel Hill Lake located in Laurel Hill State Park, Pennsylvania. Patrolman Notaro was with three of his children (ages three, five and six) in the canoe when it overturned. He was able to hold the children above the water and they were rescued. Patrolman Notaro went underwater before the boat returned to rescue him. He was brought to shore and CPR was administered but to no avail.
