Description: Deputy Nguyen was shot and killed as he and his partner investigated a suspicious person in a known gang area of South Sacramento. Deputy Nguyen and his partner were on routine gang patrol when a suspect saw them and ran from a house. Both officers gave chase from two different directions. Deputy Nguyen was shot in the neck while pursuing the suspect. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
