Description: Deputy Sheriff Overall was struck and killed after he deployed spike sticks. Officers began pursuing a suspect after he made threats outside of the Lapeer County Jail against law enforcement. Deputy Sheriff Overall deployed the spike sticks and took up a position well off the roadway. The suspect intentionally drove off the roadway and struck Deputy Sheriff Overall. Deputy Overall was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect was taken into custody.
