Description: Assistant Warden Oliver was assaulted and his throat cut by two inmates who were attempting to escape from the Huntsville (TX) facility. Warden Oliver was bound with a rope and used as a shield. The inmates then forced Warden Oliver up a ladder and threw him from the prison wall. Warden Oliver was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries 16 days later. The inmates were recaptured.
