Description: Officer O'Neill suffered a fatal cerebral hemorrhage after escorting an emergency polio patient to the hospital. Officers O'Neill and Patrick Newman, on their motorcycles, escorted an ambulance carrying a polio patient to the hospital. After the ambulance arrived at the hospital, the officers left to return to their posts. Officer O'Neill's body was found by a doctor in the driveway of the hospital next to his parked patrol motorcycle. Officer O'Neill was stabilized then transferred to another hospital where an examination revealed that he had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. Officer O'Neill died the next morning.
