Description: Assistant Chief O'Leary was shot in an exchange of gunfire as he questioned a burglary suspect at the back entrance of a grocery store. Chief O'Leary was shot in the chest as he attempted to arrest the suspect and died at the scene. The suspect committed suicide a week later and left a note confessing to the murder.
