Description: Trooper Patterson responded to an accident on Valley Road where a vehicle had struck a utility pole. The collision left a power line hanging close to the ground. As he approached the damaged vehicle, Trooper Patterson was electrocuted when the wind blew the live power line directly on him. While en route to the medical center, Trooper Patterson's heart stopped and he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
