Description: Correctional Officer Pomales was killed in an automobile crash while transporting an inmate to the clinic. A distracted driver drifted into the next lane and struck the prison van. The van left the road and rolled down an embankment. Correctional Officer Pomales was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The two passengers in the van suffered minor injuries.
