Description: Probation Officer Poling drowned in the Ohio River while in pursuit of a suspect who had fled from a traffic stop. Officer Poling and several other officers pursued the suspect on foot and continued to pursue the suspect as he jumped into the Ohio River. Officer Poling went under the water to search for the suspect but did not resurface. Officer Poling's body was recovered the next day.
