Description: Patrolman Pickett was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a suspect. Patrolman Pickett was on night patrol when he approached two suspicious men on the street after the town stores and saloon had closed. While questioning the two suspects, one of them drew a handgun and shot Patrolman Pickett in the face. Patrolman Pickett's body was discovered by local citizens the next morning.
