Description: Correctional Officer Parsons was shot with his own gun when he provided an inmate with medicine. An inmate at the Donovan convict farm requested medicine for a non-existent illness. When Officer Parsons brought the medicine to the cell, the inmates grabbed him and held him against the iron bars. The inmates then took Officer Parson's gun and shot him. Officer Parsons died at the scene. Five inmates fled the facility.
