Description: Sergeant Prendes was shot and killed after responding to a domestic violence call where a man was beating a woman with a stick. Sergeant Prendes, who was the first officer to approach the residence, was shot fatally by the suspect with a semi-automatic rifle. The suspect fired more than 50 rounds at officers before he was shot and killed by one of the department's expert shooters.
