Description: Sheriff Petray was shot and killed in a shootout with three rapists dubbed, "The Howard Street Gang." The gang had been traced to Santa Rosa after brutally attacking several females in San Francisco. Officers Lester Dorman and Miles Jackson of the San Francisco Police Department were also killed in this incident. The gang members were lynched by an angry mob.
