Description: Deputy Sheriff Paugh was shot and killed while investigating a suspicious vehicle parked on the interstate. Deputy Paugh had just finished his shift and was on his way home when he noticed a suspicious vehicle. Before he was able to put down his motorcycle's kickstand, a male suspect exited the vehicle and shot Deputy Paugh nine times with a M4 rifle. The suspect then shot and killed himself. Deputy Paugh was in uniform and on his department motorcycle when he was fatally shot. Deputy Paugh died at the scene.
