Description: Captain Poelking and his fellow officers responded to a robbery call at the Voyager Lounge. The officers arrived to find the robbers holding 15 hostages in the basement. As Captain Poelking attempted to negotiate release of the hostages, he was spat upon. Captain Poelking awoke the following day with the chills, 104? fever and difficulty breathing. He was admitted to the hospital three days later where he died of inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.
