Description: Officer Perkey was a passenger in the patrol car driven by his partner Officer Donald Chamberlain. The Officers were chasing a speeding motorist when their car hit a wet spot in the road, spun out of control and struck a tree. Officer Perkey was thrown from the car and died at the scene.
